The rules, in full

How the price is worked out.

There is no hidden step. These five rules are all the calculation does.

  1. 1. We count schools, not people

The licence tier depends on the number of counted schools in your organisation. Users, agents and tickets are unlimited.

  2. 2. The first 3 Micro Schools do not count

A Micro School has fewer than 100 pupils: 99 is one, 100 is not. The first 3 in an organisation are left out of the count, and any further ones count as normal. If more than 3 qualify, the allowances go to the schools with the lowest URN; the price is the same whichever they are.

  3. 3. A small school or organisation pays £0

A school standing alone with fewer than 100 pupils, or an organisation of up to 3 schools that each have fewer than 100, pays £0 for the KeystoneIT perpetual licence. It is the full product.

  4. 4. A licence covers one whole organisation

The builder reads from the register which Trust or federation each school belongs to. Trust licensing normally covers the whole Trust, so a quote for part of one is flagged. Where the register does not show your schools to be one organisation: we can calculate an indicative price, but we’ll confirm the organisation relationship before issuing a licence.

  5. 5. Where the evidence is unclear, we say so

Pupil numbers come from the Department for Education’s register, and we use the latest figure it publishes, with its date. If a figure is missing, undated, queried, or more than 2 years old and close to 100, the school is marked “Needs confirmation” and counts until we have confirmed it with you. Nothing is granted or refused silently.

Provisional. These prices and rules are provisional until the licence agreement and commercial terms are published. A quote is valid for 30 days.
